Kitsunekon AMV Contest

Ladies and gentlemen!  Kitsune Kon is proud to announce that submissions for the Kon’s 2017 AMV Contest are now being accepted!  We have made quite a few changes to the rules this year so feel free to email us with any questions [email protected]

Rules and Guidelines

Every AMV entry must be between 2-5 minutes in length, must be no bigger than 1GB is size, and must be in .mp4 format. Any entry that fails to meet this requirement will be disqualified.

All entries should have content that is suitable for minors to view.

That means no nudity, no profanity, and no use of illegal substances.

Basically keep it PG-13

Participants in the AMV Contest need be present at Kitsune Kon to win.

No-shows will be disqualified.

Submission Format

  1.  AMV’s must be in .mp4 file format only.   AMV entries in any other format will be disqualified.  We accept e-mail entries (Google Drive sharing works best)
  2.  All entries that are e-mailed must be before Thursday, July 1st at MIDNIGHT to the following e-mail address: [email protected]
  3. The following information MUST BE FILLED OUT and sent in with the entry in the following format:

Name of entry:

Name of creator:

Visual Media used:

Song(s) used:

  1.  We do accept Exhibition pieces for those who wish to submit one in addition to their contest entry (limited one Exhibition piece per entrant).  Exhibition entries will be shown once all the contest entries have been shown.  Please note that though we may not get through all of the exhibition entries if time runs short.
  2. Live action, stop motion, Japanese animation, American animation, computer generated animation, and really anything else that could be called a video, are all accepted.

Scoring and Awards

All AMVs will be scored out of a possible 50 points.

20 possible for editing: this includes cuts, sync to the music, quality, etc….

10 possible for creativity.

10 possible for storytelling.

and 10 possible for a MYSTERY CATEGORY! Note: this category will be unveiled at the contest, so be prepared for anything. IT COULD EVEN BE A BOAT!

The Top 3 videos will get an award and judge’s choice awards.

In the event of a tie for an award, there will be an unbiased bonus tiebreaker point awarded to the AMV the judges feel should win.

We will be showing clips from the winner’s videos on our YouTube channel and link to the winner’s own  YouTube (or other site)

Kitsune Kon is proud to announce that we are holding an 18+ contest this year as well! Submissions for the Kon’s 2017 AMV Contest 18+ are now being accepted.  We have made quite a few changes to the rules this year so feel free to email us with any questions [email protected]

Rules and Guidelines

Contestants must be 18+ years of age to enter.

HOWEVER: NO LIVE ACTION. ANIMATION ONLY.
